What a magnificent evening last night. Poor Alan had a cold but he soldiered on. It would take more that a cold to damage the beauty of his voice though (once the Forum had sorted out their microphone problems).
I found it all extremely moving. What wonderful, insightful and understated work. I'm off to Brighton this weekend and am going to finish my copy of 'The Uncommon Reader' before I arrive: this invariably means that I will be giggling and weeping with equal measure in the corner of the Quiet Carriage tonight.
Does anyone know where I can find his marvellous story about his Grandma's palour?
